History

The Marysville Clinic In 1938, four physicians combined their private practices to form a multi-specialty medical group named The Marysville Clinic. Under the guidance of Dr. Granville S. Delamere, who was inspired by his residency at the Mayo Clinic, a new format for providing care was introduced - ongoing comprehensive health care, with specialty medical, surgical & emergency needs from one source.

The initial building (4th and H Streets), went through many transformations to finally house the seventeen physicians which moved to Third Street in 1968. In 1985 the Women, Children & Teen Center was completed, allowing the growth to continue to 50+ physicians. Added in 1987, the Urgent Care Clinic and Industrial Medicine further increased the level of services available by providing immediate care for acute problems and industrial medicine at regional satellite facilities.

Today, over fifty-five years later, we are still dedicated to quality patient care and service. This is clearly demonstrated by our sustained growth and ongoing commitment to our patients.

In early 1992, the Marysville Medical Group and Yuba Feather Medical Group physicians recognized that healthcare was in a rapid state of change. In an effort to continue to deliver quality healthcare in a cost-effective manner, they decided to join one of the most prominent integrated healthcare organizations in Northern California, Sutter Health. On June 1, 1993, the physicians formed a professional corporation, Sutter North Medical Group, and contracted their services to the newly formed not-for-profit medical foundation, Sutter North Medical Foundation.

The trend for growth, so favorable to enhancing quality through diversity and cost-reduction, will doubtlessly continue with more facilities in this and other nearby communities.
